Diana Multi Pinhole Operator : A First Touch
written by ndroo on June 25th, 2009 , 5 comments (5 votes)

Pinhole photography just got more fun with the Diana Multi Pinhole Operator! It offers a switch that allows you to choose between 1, 2 or 3 pinholes, a set of interchangeable multi-coloured filters and an easy to operate switch to open/close the pinhole(s) that makes a cable release unnecessary.

Mix and match the choice of pinholes and the colored filters and you’ll be surprised at the crazy, funky and awesome photos. If you are going for the good old single pinhole without the extra mad colours just switch to the single pinhole mode and remove the color filter and you’re all ready to go!

For those who ain’t good with estimating exposure times, worry not. There is a simple exposure guide at the back of the user manual that you can cut out and keep in your wallet. Just be brave and experiment by adding/reducing the recommended exposure times based on your gut feel and you’ll be fine. I admit that I was dead worried when I was shooting my first few rolls but then the photos turned out pretty fine!

What’s even better is the choice of medium that you can use on this camera. You can either use medium format film, 35mm film (with the Diana 35mm back) or even Instax film (with the Instax back)!!! Endless possibilities for days and years of fun!
