I came across this camera many years ago now browsing on ebay – which I still do now and then – it was priced at a few pounds so I bought it, not really knowing much about it, apart from it was manufactured by Belarus-Belomo with this series produced from 1967-1972. I went on to discover that it shoots 35mm fim but at a half frame rate – which means 72 shots per roll.
I like the fact that you can mix shots up like this & especially that it has a ‘b’ setting for longer exposures. I love that it has the original Russian worded logo, that it is a good weight in my hands – that it was a bit battered and scratched when it arrived all the way from Russia beautifully packaged in brown paper with a string around it.
Here are the camera specs:
Lens Industar: 69
Focal length, mm: 28
Relative aperture: f/2,8
Shutter: 1/30s, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250s + B (bulb)
Diaphragm scale: from 2,8 to 16
Focusing, m: 0,8 to infinite
35mm Film: 18 × 24mm frames
If you come across one grab it and have a go!
