While shopping at our local Big Lots my wife and I wandered into the “discount” section. It was there that we stumbled on to the a great find. It was a disposable camera called The Message Camera. This particular Message Camera was labeled as a wedding anniversary camera. We thought it could be funnily appropriate for our upcoming 2nd anniversary, so we decided to take a closer look.
We noticed that it was about 2 months past its expiration date, which we both liked. And we also liked how simple it would be to use, it has a built in flash that has a one push charge button, a shutter release, viewfinder, and film advance wheel. It also has a menu on the back of it so you know which saying will be displayed on which frame number you are currently shooting. So we decided to by it(about $7 USD).
Now we had to wait for it to be our anniversary. After a few months of waiting it finally came and as we planned our day we luckily remembered to bring along the anniversary camera. We took random self portraits together. We took pictures of one another. We even had a stranger take a picture of us at dinner. The entire time of taking photos we never paid attention to what saying went with what photo we were taking(we wanted to be surprised once they were developed.
So the final outcome is the photos you see along with this review. Some good quality shots that aren’t taken too seriously, but gave my wife and I a memorable anniversary that we won’t forget because of our unusual Message Camera.
