Split Cam - Split Vision

As soon as I saw the Microsite for this camera I though to myself I have to get this. Its got to be the greatest invention ever. A cheap camera that has a shutter release and built in lens dividers. As soon as i got it, i ran 3 rolls of film through it, Kodak tri-x 400 iso, Agfa rsx ii 50 iso and Kodak max 800 iso. The camera it self is pretty good for a plastic camera. But you can fall for the same trap as with the Holga, forgetting the lens cap so to speak. The split cam has two slits next the lens that allows you to cover the top or bottom part of the lens. the view finder has the same slits as well, but when your shooting you can forget to switch the slits and get all mixed up. That was the only problem i had with the camera. I was pretty happy with the results, and was shocked that 50 iso worked so well with the camera,(they are the xpro pics of the nyc). For the price the camera cant be beat.

But if you already have an lc-a+ and a splitzer its pretty much the same thing. Though you wont have to worry about the splitzer falling off the camera. I don’t know why i stopped using the camera, I think I’m going to have to dig it out and start using it again. happy shooting!

Yeah I need to reconnect with my spitcam. Having a splitzer for my lca and Volga makes me forget about splity sometimes. I should take it to the beach this summer for sure.
