The only chance to mess up a pop9 shot is when it is too dark. You should always use the built in flash especially when you decide to take your shots from very close. Don’t forget to check if your battery – one AA battery is required – is charged. When you don’t use your pop9 remove it. I sometimes forget to remove the battery and the next time I want to take photos the flash does not work due to an empty battery. Annoying!
I always use 100 ASA film with my pop9 camera combined with as above mentioned flash. My favourite type of film is black and white film with a good contrast. In my opinion the photos look more artistic and special in black and white. But I also use colour film and most of the times the results are great too.
You can develop your pop9 films at any drugstore but there is the risk that they cut your images wrong. If you are able to scan your negatives, just let them develop the negatives and write on the film bag “please don’t cut”.
Something strange in the end: The images come out upside down. I figured it out after I made some double exposure experiments combined with other cameras. But maybe this is just a “special feature” of my pop9. :)
