Ok, that’s simplifying it a little. Like all cams there’s some trial and error to do. My first roll was full of shots of my fingers thanks to its all-seeing eye, so I learned that it’s best to grip it on top and bottom, similar to the way you hold a Horizon camera.

The lack of ‘features’ also limits your control over exposure. I’ve found that 100 ASA works great in sunlight, 400 in shade. So the obvious solution is to carry two – an option that’s more than realistic since they rarely go for more that $10 on ebay!

For this reason too it’s a camera you can always carry with you. Ok, so it’s dumped at the bottom of a bag for a month, or stuffed in a dirty pocket. At worst, you’ll fork out another $10. At best, you’ll have this quietly powerful little camera with you when you most need it.

To me, this is a camera that every toycam enthusiast should have in their collection – a little brother for your Dianas and Holgas.

I have VUWS and I love it! I take it with me everywhere cuz it fits nicely in my pocket, its about the size of an older iPod, and it takes great pictures! I love to shoot a roll of fim, then rewind and shoot doubles on the same roll.

Someone somewhere has a page of B setting and double exposure mods, I might buy a few more just to tinker with them.

I have an album of VUWS doubles here: http://beta.lomograp(…)omes/cheeso

And more on my old Lomo home: www.lomohomes.com/cheeso

Its the best $7 I've ever spent!
