This week, after much anticipation and excitement from Brazilian Lomographers, the doors were finally opened to the Gallery Store Rio de Janeriro. It’s hard to believe that it’s already our 10th Lomography Gallery Store worldwide!
Although each one is unique, the Rio de Janeiro store is very special as it’s the first Gallery Store in South America. We cannot express our gratitude enough for the warm welcome our flagship South American Gallery Store received!
The Opening Party Was a Smash Hit!
If you build it they will come! The opening night was a total smash hit with nearly 600 people lined up to get in the doors. They poured in full of excitement to gaze at the biggest LomoWall in South America while sipping Caipirinhas. And even though their hands were full with biscoito globo and Brazilian empadinhas, no one was too busy to touch and paw at all the Lomography treasures on display.
There was a performance from our special guest band, Brasov, who came all the way from Eastern Europe in honour of Lomography’s Russian roots. The entire Gallery Store was their stage as they made their way through the crowd playing their Russian influenced, unique brand of music.
