2000 LomoLocations and Going Strong

As Lomographers, we like to travel. We like to walk, shoot and see where our feet takes us. From the corner market, a nearby beach, all the way to the Arctic, we’ve chronicled each step taken and each smile given with our precious Lomo cameras. The Locations are our way of identifying and showcasing the merry mix of unique places and locales that you have visited and at the same time, would like to visit in the future! It’s the Lomo communities’ very own travel guide that caters to all things Lomographic.

Believe it or not, we’re actually at our 2000th location! Time sure flies when you’re having fun. Before unveiling it however, we’ll whet your appetite first as we take a trip down memory lane and check out 20 of the best, weirdest, intriguing and most interesting locations to date, spanning all four corners of the globe!

Mount Bromo, Indonesia – Well know for its spectacular sunrises and majestic views across to Semeru volcano in the south.

Odaiba, Japan – A man made beach, lots of shopping joints and the coolest architecture pieces are just some of the things you can expect from this funky artificial island in Japan!

Altai, Onguday – This is a mountain range in central Asia, where Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan come together, and where the rivers Irtysh, Ob and Yenisei have their sources.

The Tunnel, Austria – A hidden relic from the past long forgotten and now found. This tunnel was made back in the second World War

Okavango Delta, Botswana – Loosen yourself up and ride a mokoro boat and enjoy the life and wildlife in Botswana’s most famous nature reserve!

Patronato Business District, Santiago – If you’re looking for a culturally diverse place to shop and photograph, head no farther than Patronato where a wide variety of scents and sounds await you every step of the way.

Klang, Malaysia – Klang is a thriving urban town is full of modern facilities but has refined attractive pockets of traditional and environmental charm in the heart of Malaysia.

Red Rock Canyon, USA- Las Vegas isn’t just all about casinos. Don’t forget to visit this wonder of nature if you’re in the area.

Avio Castle, Italy – Every when can you say that you’ve been to a real castle? This is a location not to be missed.

Manila Film Center, Philippines – From triumph to tragedy, the mystery behind the intrigue in the Manila Film Center is still unknown. Come for the ghosts and go next door for some sushi!

Dogon Country, Africa – Dogon Country is a rather isolated area inhabited by about 350,000 natives and is one of the most visited places in Mali.

Taal Volcano, Philippines Popular all over the globe as a volcano within a volcano, this location is just a stone’s throw away from Manila.

Mount Pinatubo, Philippines – One of the most destructive volcanoes in the last century, this is now a haven for spa aficionados and green mountaineers.

Oursi Sand Dunes, Africa – Extremely vast and wide, the experience of being in the desert is nothing short of surreal and magical at the same time.

Chinese Supermarket, Mulhouse – Your friendly neighborhood supermarket has its own characteristics, quirk and charm. And this Chinese store in France sure is no exception!

Swiss Architecture Musuem, Basel – If you’re looking for inspiration, the Swiss Architecture Musuem is the place to be. Chock full of breathtaking and exquisite designs, a visit is sure to rejuvenate your artistic and creative mind!

Voodoo Spiritual Temple, New Orleans – Get off the beaten track the next time you go to New Orleans and go on a cemetery tour to see and immerse yourselves in a different side of the culture.

The Colosseum, Rome – One of the marvels and wonders of our world, there is a majesty in the Colosseum that no one has yet to replicate.

HSV Cemetery, Hamburg – A cemetery just for football fans? You better believe it. Head on over to Hamburg for this unusual and downright awesome idea.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Home to an exquisite beach, classic architecture and gorgeous women, Rio is the abbreviation of the word ‘party’.

Here’s the 2000th location – the Radio Trail located in Santena, Italy – it’s a must for that much-needed adrenaline rush extreme sports bring, so be sure to drop by the next time you stop by in lovely Italia!

    Wow ! 2000 locations (congrats champi ! ;-) ), and I hope it's not the end ! So many beautiful place to visit, so many pictures to take !

    I love to click on a country and to discover the lomolocations !

    And thank you LSi for selecting the Dogon countryside in the top 20 locations. This is for sure a fantastic place to visit !
