4 Big LomoWalls At MoMA

In the modern art world, there are few museums on the planet as esteemed and revered for their ability to recognize important artistic movements as the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York City. From Dada to Pop-Art, MoMA has always been on the forefront of what’s exciting, unique, and important in the art world. So it was only a matter of time before Lomography had its moment in the MoMA spotlight!

Beginning mid-January and continuing through the beginning of February, three separate locations of MoMA Design Stores in NYC will feature impressive LomoWall installations with over 16,000 Lomographs. The images used to build the LomoWalls were assembled from two online photo rumbles that resulted in submissions from 28 countries around the world. While checking out these massive and breathtaking installations be sure to check out the latest array of Lomographic products available at the MoMA Design Stores, including the special edition MoMA DianaF+.

• MoMA Design Store, 44 West 53 Street, NYC, Installation from January 15th through February 2nd
• MoMA Design Store, Soho, 81 Spring Street, NYC, Installation from January 13th through February 4th

Join us for a Workshop/LomoJourney on January 24th to visit the MoMA Locations

NYC, don’t despair! You can still get your Lomographic fix while our brand new Lomography Gallery Store is under renovation. On January 24th, 2009 come join us on an exciting LomoJourney to the MoMA Design Store locations. Meeting first at the Soho MoMA Design Store, we will hold an introduction to Lomography presentation followed by a LomoJourney to explore the rest of the MoMA Design Store locations. Participants can borrow a loaner camera and shoot to their heart’s content along the way.

WHEN: January 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: Meet first at the Soho MoMA Design Store, located at 81 Spring Street at the corner of Spring and Crosby in NYC.

The first 25 participants to arrive at the Soho store will receive a pass for FREE admission to the MoMA museum, so get there early!

Stop by the brand new Lomography Gallery Store in New York City

On Tuesday, January 27th the all brand new Lomography Gallery Store will finally be open and awaiting perusal by your eager eyes and fingers. The shop will offer the entire expanded line of Lomography products including film, deadstock Russian cameras, special edition cameras, and even more tantalizing Lomographic goodies. On Monday, January 26th there will be a party held to celebrate the grand opening of the newest edition to the Lomography family, the Lomography Gallery Store NYC!
