My Lomo Story : Round & Wide Pictures
written by eva_eva on December 22nd, 2008 , 10 comments (1 vote)

“Lomography? Huh. What’s that?”

The conversation doesn’t just ended there. The curiosity of me, wanted to know more, ask and keep on asking.

He told me, Lomography consists of a group of toy analogue camera.

“Huh, Toy camera? COOL!”

Then he introduce me, The Fisheye2. The moment I saw it, I knew I fall in love with it. It’s so cute and so plastic to me. The round view finder letting me to imagine how would it be the outcome of the pictures taken. Without hesitating, I’m grabbing this fisheye 2, and went for a vacation. That was, November 2006.

I shoot anything I felt I wanted to shoot. There, I spend up my first 2 rolls. Immediately after that when I got home from the vacation, I send to developing. The heart-pumping and the nervous feeling of the outcome of those pictures are really excited. Moreover, it’s been such a long while since the last shoot using the analogue cameras. I’ve forgotten how does it feel like shooting with films in a camera.

The results?

I smiled and smiled endlessly. The outcome of the pictures made me happy. I love the WIDE pictures! These round and wide pictures are totally awesome. The happiness these analogue pictures can bring me, is really indescribeable. Then, my love towards lomography grew stronger and stronger.

Fisheye2 would be my best partner ever. I’m still madly in love with the round wide pictures after I’ve testing and playing around with other analogue cameras. Those self-shot and big head pictures together with my friends and family, bring me a lot of memories. It’s lovely to be able to take pictures with someone really important in my life. It does record down the moments of joy gathering together.

Round-Wide-Pictures, that’s my love in Lomo.
