Russia in New York Workshop Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended the Russia in New York Workshop on Saturday, December 13th. It was a great success indeed. Everyone who attended was bold enough to brave the cold for our LomoJourney through the neighborhood searching for Russian or Russian-inspired locations.

We began our journey at the New York City Lomography PopUpShop located at 41W 8th Street.

First we had a little chat about some Lomography cameras and products, filling everyone in on what Lomography is about and has been up to over the past few years.

At that point, everyone couldn’t wait to get their hands on some cameras, so we handed out some loaner DianaF+’s and a few other cameras, a free roll of film for everyone who showed up, and off we went!

We stopped off first at the Russian and Turkish Bath Houses on E10th Street.

Then it was off to St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church on 10th Street and Avenue A, where we had a short Pinhole workshop using our DianaF+’s.

From there we were all started to freeze, so we rounded back down 7th Street where we took a few photos in front of the St. George Ukrainian Church on E7th Street.

At that point everyone’s fingers were too numb to shoot anymore, so we headed back to the Lomography PopUpShop for some warm glogg, and everyone played with the cameras for a while.

We were so pleased with the turnout for the first of many workshops at the Lomography shop in New York City.
