Wings of a Dove - Analogue Love

Lately I followed the invitation of my old friend and musician Peter to take some pictures of his CD release concert in Frick, Switzerland. Besides my professional digital – Brick I also took an LC-A+ and an Actionsampler flash with me – hoping for some nice opportunities to shoot. Finally it ended up being a great weekend – Peter’s house was invaded by 12 other people – including myself. That organised confusion and busyness going on from morning till late night made me forget to take pictures all the time. But maybe it also was the fact that I was totally occupied with four cute kids aged from 2-6 that tried to make me play with them all the time that kept me from documenting everything with my lomos.

After taking 4 pictures the Actionsamper Flash fell prey to the youngsters – they managed to downgrade it to a regular Actionsampler by breaking the flash and enjoy having their first Lomographic camera. Luckily I was able to “steal” the hardly exposed back from them before I left.

The concert itself was great too. I was a little disappointed because I couldn’t photograph all the time as I replaced a cameraman for a DVD production on the CD–Krakutu Power who didn’t show up. But that’s when I understood the incredible LC-A+ snapshot quality once more. Every once in a while I left the video camera behind, pulled out the LC-A+, took a shot and hustled back to my position. There was no time for caring about focus settings or even a quick peep through the viewfinder – all I had time for was aiming roughly to the right direction and “Klick”!

After all I captured only a few moments on that roll of ISO 800 Lomographic film but they were all shot from the hip without wasting one thought on the outcome of the pics.
