Photokina - Recap
written by lucasjakobsson on October 1st, 2008 , 2 comments (1 vote)

With the Photokina now over we would like to thank all who have supported us and made this years exhibition the most lively and original at the Photokina! The worlds largest ever lomowall (well
actually floor as well) stood out and amazed both guests, experienced
Lomographers and staff alike! The lomowall is composed of 100 000
photos submitted by you, the community, the heartbeat of LSI!

This year’s theme, the future is analogue, started when we asked you
,the community, to define analogue photography for us in comparison with
digital photography. In a nutshell, you defined analogue photography
with the following words (among others): authentic, unpredictable,
love, surprise, excitement, fun, sexy and true. The results confirmed
our own beliefs and off to the Photokina we went to spread the word!

The largest lomowall to date is based on the keywords that were used
to describe analogue photography. The images were submitted through
both a massive rumble hosted at www.lomography.com and through the
help of our first ever collaboration with our friends from flickr that created a group just for us (Flickr also
joined us at the Photokina). The submissions were printed and now are
part of a world record! A lomowall consisting of 100 000, (that is one
- hundred – thousand) photos!

In case you missed it, here is a chance to see the exhibition space
both through true a pinhole analogue camera and by video (there is
even a fisheye video!).

Thank you once again, because it was you that made this possible!
