Today the first location of the week award will be given out. Each week we will go through some of the best locations published and mention why we think these may interest you. It may be because the author found something especially interesting or because the photographs were particularly stunning or went to some hidden corner of the earth.
Last week we asked for some specific locations, including Eastern Europe, Midwestern USA and mainland China. We got some responses and they are either online or will be coming on soon. Thank you for those.
All in all, these are are locations that we though are worth a special mention this week. Starting with graefin’s entry on an analogue Photoautomat in Hamburg
On the other side of the world eazy360 brought the spotlight to a backpacker heaven in Bangkok. The pictures does a great job a depicting the modern lifestyle combined with the traditional market.
And most importantly, the “location of the week” prize goes to hanspan for her efforts to take a moment out of her life and have a deeper look at the city she grew up in. She found a new perspective of her home town, York, as she states that she “got a real sense of fulfillment from looking up” instead of feet rushing from A to B.
For her efforts she is about to receive a badge for her lomohome as well as 10 piggies. Read about York here
This weeks featured theme will therefore be to stop and take a look at your home town. Breathe out, take the long way home, and snap away. This is something everyone can do, and I hope we will all discover something new just around the corner :)
