The Great Analogue Photo Rumble – Last few days
written by kazarareta on August 14th, 2008 , 10 comments (1 vote)

We want your vintage shots!

The Photokina camera fair’s opening soon and in a few weeks we’re going to wrap up the Analogue 2008 rumble – where we will unveil the biggest lomowall ever in history! There will be more than 100,000 analogue photos from different walks of life.

We are calling everyone to submit their most VINTAGE, OLD-SCHOOL photos and show the world how the world has changed (or has not changed) through the delicious world of film. We are giving everyone two full weeks to dig deep through photos from their family archives, the rusted-out photo frames in everyone’s home desk. Whether it be old-hollywood glamour, postwar relics or even the funky-headband decades we would definitely appreciate your help with this one-of-a-kind endeavor of old meets new, new meets old and prove to the world that analog is still KING!

Let the world see the old world through a different light – and make history by reinventing the history of film! Participate here now!

The rumble ends August 18 which is this monday – act fast! Not only do you get a chance for your photos to be seen, you get piggy-point fat rewards as well!

It might help you to classify your thoughts or the thoughts of your kin by checking the following rules out:

RUMBLE CONDITIONS

Here are the conditions: You can upload images relating to all of the 15 categories. However, you can only upload a maximum of 20 images to any one category. (see below for complete 15 upload categories). Final deadline for submissions is 18th of August. It would make us very happy if you also filled in the approximate year when the image was taken. Thanks!

PIGGY POINT REWARDS
(what would a rumble be without piggies flying away to your lomoshop bank?)

  • 5 Piggy Points – for everyone who uploads 5 images or more
  • A further 5 Piggy Points to everyone who fills in the optional time field – estimating when the pic was taken.

Piggy Points are wondrous online vouchers worth 1 EUR/USD on shop.lomography.com

15 ANALOGUE CATEGORIES TO INSPIRE YOU

But hold on. This is not just any rumble we’re talking about. It’s a serious mission to pave the way to the analogue future! We’ve selected the 15 most-voted-for analogue keywords from the results of the grand Analogue vs Digital survey:

  • authentic
  • love
  • unpredictable
  • surprise
  • experiment
  • excitement
  • beautiful
  • satisfaction

to name but a few all-star nouns, with which we hope to push your upload-trigger. Your submitted images MUST reflect these categories. They should visually describe the findings of the grand Analogue vs. Digital survey, put simply; that the most exciting, inspiring and beautiful things in life will always remain analogue!

Am I supposed to upload the vintage pics in one of the 15 categories? Or is it some special section?

you have to upload it to one of the sections. and there you can then add the date of the shot.

so the vintage shots go in with our regular submissions? and how will you tell the difference? (other than it will be obvious - i mean, are you really going to examine if they are vintage or not?)

I guess the time field where you fill in an estimation of what year the shot was taken will give 'em a good hint of which photos are "vintage" ;-)

Will you present the "winning" shots in an online lomowall or how do we know which shots are accepted for the wall?
