THE FUTURE IS DIGITAL? We don't think... The Great Analogue Photo Rumble - Participate Now
written by pan_dre on August 4th, 2008 , 22 comments (1 vote)

An earthquake-like shock shook our headquarters this week. While evaluating the grand analogue survey feedback we had to swallow the fact that the majority of Lomographers believe that – the future is digital. The shock! The Horror! We were ready to throw everything out of the window; cancel Photokina, abandon camera production and start producing microchips for digital air-conditioning systems. But alas! Just seconds before our fingers touched the “Off” switch we discovered the very same sample of people actually believe that the most essential things in life remain analogue! Life, love, fun, sex, beauty, creativity were voted by a huge percentage to be definitively analogue.“
If these results don’t show that the future is analogue, then what?!

PHOTOKINA 2008 ONLINE RUMBLE

To celebrate this groundbreaking discovery let us introduce you to the Analogue 2008 rumble. The results of this unique photo challenge will be presented at the world famous Photokina fair; only the biggest photo-imaging industry fair, which takes place this September. A huge space has been reserved for Lomography, and our mission is to represent creative analogue photography. In fact, doing that is exactly your job. YOU can make history by having one or more of your images featured on the biggest LomoWall ever – more than 100,000 analogue photos. Participate here!

    I don't get it... It's not that I don't want to help LSI out, but cropping 300 images is really hard work (and quite boring as well.) And you just need to upload 5 to get all the piggies? Maybe you could do something like:

    10 Piggy Points – for everyone who uploads 200 images or more?

    or maybe

    Everyone who uploads 200 images or more will have a chance to win 10 rolls of assorted film?

    I'll upload anyway, but it would be kinda nice -- it would give me a good reason to waste my entire day (:

    submitted! one for each category :D

    @larslau
    try batch processing the 300 images. as for your suggestion, some people don't have that much picture to submit.

    @johann_affendy

    Batch processing won't work. A lot of my pics are cropped in different ways... And I couldn't just pick 300 pics in one step.

    And some people might not even have 5 images... I'm not even sure I have 200 reasonable shots to submit, but I think it would be nice if I had something to aim for. I don't really see how that is unfair to people who don't have 200 shots to submit..

    Another idea would be if 1 piggy was given away per 10 or 20 shots... At least I would be happy (:

    we will look through all the shots and mandi, our master of the images, will show us those who we should award extra!

    I have uploaded my photos but the earliest date you can enter is 1900, mine is from 1880's!! I had to click 1900.
