Lomography/Russia! Bar Crawl Challenge Deadline!

Dear loyal and dedicated (and perhaps obsessive) Lomographers,

We are calling on you for a special mission because we know that you are
the cream of the crop – that special breed of snap-happy souls capable
of miraculous things in the name of analog photography.

As you may already know, we are currently running a competition with
Russia! Magazine called the Lomography Russian Bar Crawl Photo Challenge. And for the next 3 days, your mission is to shoot a Soviet or Russian themed bar.

But wait! Before you spill your vodka in protest that there is only one (or worse zero) Soviet or Russian themed bar in your quiet little burg, let us explain. It doesn’t have to be categorically a Soviet or Russian bar to be SEEN and shot as Soviet or Russian by you. Find a dive, put on a furry hat, and shoot! Buy the mustached-drunk at the end of the
bar a tall glass of Russian vodka and have him hold it up like Stalin! As much as we’d love for you to go to an authentic Soviet bar and capture all that Cold-War joy with your 1991 LC-A, it’s ok for you to be a bit interpretive as well!

So here’s the good news: This competition is still wide open, and there’s a shot for one of you bold Lomographers to win a ridiculously
hearty bounty of Lomographic prizes. The winner gets a Horizon Perfekt, LC-A+ and Diana+! But not only that, you can get published in Russia! magazine which has a circulation near 50,000! How’s that for filling up that portfolio of yours?

The bad news is that the deadline is this Friday at midnight!

So get out there and get shooting. We know you can do it!
