As always, our hard-working team of lab rats has been busy concocting some film recipes to suit your weird tastes! Salt’n’Soak by Mandi

Ah, the wonders of salt. Adds flavor to your favorite dishes, disinfects your sore throat, and exfoliates dead skin cells off your gritty knees. With this experiment, Mandi presents salt with an amazing new function – it adds a crystal-like texture to your images!

Microwaved Polaroids by Alexeiz

Alexis Brien does more than shake that Polaroid picture – he pops it in the microwave for a cool, vintage-y effect! As easy as it sounds, he has stern instructions and precautions when conducting this experiment.

Infrared

“Infrared photography has always attracted fascination from the almost metaphysical notion of giving you the tools to capture the unseen and making it visible. Be it the white radiant plants or the black molten skies, the general color shift tints every scene with a dreamlike but somewhat hyper-real quality. Using a red filter, according to the sensibility of the film, allows you to cut away the visible lightwaves – just letting pass that arcane (and hidden) infrared.”
