Until March 24th, M.I.A Gallery hosted an exhibition of photographs by Malian photographer and Hasselblad Award winner Malick Sidibé. The exhibition in Seattle consisted of over 30 photographs by Sidibé. As you can see, Sidibé’s work focusses mostly on black-and-white studies of popular culture in 1960s Bamako. It includes portraits both of people and of life so to speak, but the human element is always present in each picture.

Living in Leeds with its huge student population, I often feel overwhelmed by the vast range of bars, pubs and clubs on offer and I have written articles about a few of them before. For this month's CitySlicker however, I am going to look at a couple of my new favourite bars, right round the corner from my house in Meanwood.

As if vintage cameras weren't cool enough simply because they're, uh, vintage cameras. Now Roberto Altieri has found a way to breathe new life into non-functioning analogue SLRs: he "upcycled" them into iPod/iPhone charging docks!

Many people think that taking photos of strangers in the street is a very hard thing to do, and it is! But it is also very fun, so I decided to grab my Horizon Perfekt and walk through the main square of Lima asking people for a picture of them from the hip. This is what I got.
