Prepare yourself for an event-packed year unlike any other full of exhibitions, projects, parties and other Lomographic happenings – all in honour of the amazing LOMO LC-A – the original Soviet-made compact camera with which Lomography began.

Check the Technique! Which shooting technique has been used for this picture? Tell us, with a little luck you might be able to stock on your piggie account with one lucky piggy

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson

This year we saw the expansion of the Lomography Gallery stores, mostly in Asia. Therefore we are looking forward to the opening of another brand new Lomography Gallery Store in the Big Apple!

**Let us know a little bit more about who you are and what your present life is made of.**

Without a doubt, 2008 was chock-full of fun and inspiring analogue activities that kept everybody in the community snapping up their cameras and doing a bit of mingling and shopping as well. Hop in our Lomographic time machine and do a bit of reminiscing, shall we?

Mother Russia - Its been a long time but we are pleased to announce to you that "RUSSIA!":http://www.readrussia.com/ have their next issue ready, and yes, this is the issue that you have all been waiting for!
-
Hong Kong - the starting point of our journey hit our subconsciousness before we've completed our headZ turnaround. I I never soon so many different kinds of people in the same elevator: Hindu, Muslim, Europeans, Asians, pale-skinned, black-skinned, all talking about all the subjects in the world in different languages, sometimes including English :) Just like in the "Fifth element": each floor - another alien (and peaceful) story.
-
Yet another well-kept Japan-only camera secret (until now), the "Fuji Natura Classica":http://www.lomography.com/fujinatura/ brings out all those low-light goodness that even digital cameras have a hard time composing. Our winner for the 'Konban wa, Fuji Natura Rumble', "chuo104":http://beta.lomography.com/homes/chuo104 wowed us with this beautiful and probably soaking wet nightscape.

December has been a very busy month at the Lomography Store in Paris.

When I was younger I was always creative, making or drawing things but it was never enough for me! I always wanted something better, something that others didn't know how to do!
-
Take one picture of the same thing every day for a whole year. It´s about charishing your lc-a, dedication and endurance.

"breakphreak's":http://beta.lomography.com/homes/breakphreak review of the Diana camera is extraordinary! First it starts with the history, then it goes into the functionality of the camera, then the accessories available and then his personal take! On top of this - the pictures show as much diversity as the review itself. We bow our heads and say congratulations, those are some well deserved piggies!
-
This time we're asking you for your shots with a great relevance to the notion of 'charity' and 'giving back', whichever form it takes

Let’s start the New Year with a clunky, old-school bang! While it’s usually spent talking about fresh starts and coming up with resolutions, why not go decide to travel back in time for a change? If you’re ready, hop in the Deadstock time machine as we check out vintage Russian snappers and revisit classic Russian camera craftsmanship from decades gone by. Hey, ho, let’s go!
-
I totally love this combination! Cross processed Velvia always makes me jump up and down with joy because the colours are sooo beautiful: pink, purple, red. And in combination with the Lubitel you can create wonderful masterpieces with this film.

Some weeks ago, on a random doodle break, I drew a Lomo LC-A character. The little guy had the distance and aperture switches as tiny hands and extra legs to hop around. Since I thought it might look nice as a desktop background or maybe an avatar, I took a quick snapshot of the doodle and drew over it on my computer. The result was a much cleaner drawing.

It was incredible, fast and furious! In truth, it had never been so easy to get your hands on LC-A book that Big! We were shipping them like crazy to the lucky ones who were able to get their hands on one of these LC-A Big Book and LC-A+ camera combos.

As you know, over the past year we've been bringing you the continuous adventures of "NickyDigital":http://nickydigital.com/, New York City's premiere scene-maker and party-hound, as he visits the best parties in NYC with a Lomography camera. Nicky has been out and about with several Lomographic cameras so far (see the links below for past Nicky Digital galleries). This time around, Nicky took a "Fisheye 2":http://shop.lomography.com/fisheye/ to the beach and on vacation. But of course, he also had it in hand when he dove into New York City's nightlife scene. With a 170-degree all-access pass to the action, Nicky returned from his "latest adventure":http://www.nickydigital.com/index.php?/gallery/album/C1143/ with these photos. Enjoy!
