Ah, the sweet smell of suntan lotion is in the air, which can mean only one thing…summer is officially here (at least in the northern hemisphere). So what will you be doing this summer? We have taken the liberty of putting together some accessories for all the typical summer activities you might get up to this year.

Dear Diana+ Lovers & Shooters,

Yes yes yo! The enthusiastic murmurs coming from the film lab are indeed brought to you by the rat-recruits from the community, who threw on their lab coats and took the risk! In our previous episode we called out for Lomographers who had special skills in experimenting with film, and we were met with a vigorous response! This special edition features a new batch of tried-and-tested tips from the community, and is specially approved by our Film Lab Rat leader Mandi!

Yesterday the Apero d'Amour III went down at the Lomography Gallery Store Paris. Under the working title "Bad Poetry and Calimocho", participants were invited to recite teenage style poetry dedicated to a Summer Love. The goal of the exercise was to get in shape for this summer's romantic adventures and the yearnings thereafter.

To celebrate our newest little tool which gives you the option to upload images for single blog posts, we will have a little rumble. This will be a real quick rumble. Upload your best party pics (maximum 3 per person) until Monday June 9th, 1pm Vienna time. We won't be showing any uploaded pictures inbetween. We will then set all the pictures live that moment and will also announce the winners.

A little while back, an extremely friendly and brilliant website called “Threadless” contacted us with a collaboration proposal. As you might know, Threadless.com is a vibrant online community based on original graphic t-shirt designs – and one of the world’s premiere destinations for these slamming ink-on-cotton wearable masterpieces! Much like Lomography, the creative spark and soul comes from their hyper-active and far-flung community members, who labor day and night to produce the most unexpected and exciting work possible. Sounds familiar, right? We thought so too, and saw an excellent opportunity to cooperate on an amazing online challenge.

You've seen some updates in recent weeks - mostly it's been new sections to our "Magazine":/magazine. But today we can show you something totally new: more options for you to add and contribute something to our Magazine posts. So far your interaction with the new site has been limited to comments. But now you can add pictures to existing entries - for example the "film":/magazine/films and "camera":/magazine/cameras review section: if you have taken shots with a specific film or camera you can add them. Also if you really like one article you can add it to your favorite social network site: like "StumbleUpon":http://www.stumbleupon.com, "Facebook":http://www.facebook.com, "MySpace":http://www.myspace.com, "Digg":http://www.digg.com, "del.icio.us":http://del.icio.us or "Magnolia":http://ma.gnolia.com (if we've forgotten a site you really love and use a lot: let us know, just leave a comment and we will add it).

Who remembers Fred Lebain? This Paris-based photographer is well known amongst Lomographers for his fabulous Mes vacances avec Holga photo book. Last week I accidentally stumbled across a TV program called "Künstler Hautnah/l'art et la manière" on French/German TV-channel ARTE. The program was dedicated to Fred Lebain; in a 25 minute feature you get an insight into his work and life - including the work on "Mes vacances avec Holga", the photobook "Irasshaimase" on Japan where he used mostly cross-processed photos, and a recent project on still-life photography with chocolate-covered objects. Definitely recommendable to anyone interested in creative analogue photography (that should be you)!
