Under the Needle: Permanent Lomography Love

17

Swallows, stars, anchors, a heart with the name of your love: they're all well known tattoos. But what if you're love isn't a person, but a camera?

Foto door ming_hui

I think it’s great when people are so fond of something, they want to carry it with them forever as a tattoo. Whether it’s a Star Wars-nerd with a Death Star on his back, or the Apple fangirl with a Clarus-tattoo (yes, that’s my ankle you see when you click through) and the craftly ladies who immortalize balls of wool and knitting needles on their bodies.

No matter how crazy I am about Lomography, my relationship with Lomography is still a little too early for my beloved camera tattoo. The following people are sure enough of their love for Lomography, wearing their favorite camera not only in their bag, but also on their skin.

This is the outline of the LC-A, tattooed on wendalls arm.

Also LomoAmigo Cameron Russell has a tattoo of the famous camera.

Let’s not forget the famous Diana!

The classic Polaroid camera is well represented.

Inspired by these photos? Or do you prefer a flawless un-tattooed skin? I’m curious about your experiences and opinions.

@explorette: you're in the UK, right? You should try and get an appointment with Jo Harrison, she does amazing work! www.joharrison.co.uk/ I got tattooed by her three years ago when she was in Amsterdam, besides being a fantastic artist, she's also a really sweet girl.

I love my camera tattoo, although it is modelled around a canon digital camera I have film all around it showing where I first got my interest in photography, and also the reflection of the sunset of my backyard which was something I used to be able to photograph everyday.

Useful Guidelines on Shooting with Ultra Wide Lenses

Wide-angle lens are further divided into sub-classifications: Wide, ultra-wide and ultra-ultra-wide. Based on current standards, wide lenses for 35mm cameras are those with focal lengths ranging from 24 to 35mm. Lenses are considered ultra-wide if they have focal lengths from 17 to 21 mm, and ultra-ultra-wide if from 12 to 16mm. The New Russar+ is a 20mm lens; hence it falls under the ultra-wide classification. If you have an ultra-wide lens or if you intend to get the Russar+, you might as well make the most out of your precious investment. Read on for a few guidelines on shooting with ultra-wide lenses.

    Bite-Size Fiction: The Memory Pill

Someday, getting rid of unwanted memories will be as easy as popping a pill and waiting a few hours for the desired effect to kick in. Literally a bitter pill to swallow (you'd think that with all the advancements in science then, they would've already made, say, fruit-flavored ones like the vitamins you loved as a kid), sure, but effective nonetheless.

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!
