The beaches of Rio (Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Barra) are famous for a reason! Fine white sand, cool water, and hot people!
The beaches of Rio are very Lomo-tastic!
Together with some fellow lomographers, we got the chance to spend a week in Rio as part of the ‘Petrobras/Lomo’ competition!
One of my favorite things to do is relax with a cold beer (or Caprihinia) on the beach! And boy, oh boy, the beaches of Rio were awesome for this! The beaches are all next to each other so it’s a great walk – spending a few hours walking along the coast. I love the fact that you can buy fresh coconuts here too, which is perfect on a hot day!
We managed to spend a few hours at a very secluded beach, a short car ride from Copacabana, which was great as it was a little cove with only had handfull of people on it!
Something happened on our way to the beach. We were about to hit the surf when we came across a parade of Piggies, all waiting to be spent promptly in the Lomography Online Shop! And now, 10 of these Piggy Points are frolicking in the sand, all yours for the taking! So what are you waiting for? Dive into the Online Shop and pick the item that you’d like to spend your Piggies on.
Not all photographs are meant to be seen in vibrant, saturated colors, and neither are they always suitable for in black and white. Lomography welcomes yet another innovation from KONO! The Reanimated Film. Without diminishing the aesthetic value of images, KONO! Donau 35mm Film casts a distinct blue tone to photos. It is ultra-low ISO film that is best used for long exposure shots. Check out this fine selection of uniquely tinted images.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
The Pfaueninsel ("Peacock Island"), also known as "Pearl in the Havel sea," is a world cultural heritage and popular destination for Berliners. Loose peacocks, water buffalos and the magical character of the island were also a reason for me to go and spend one Sunday afternoon there, with my LC-A+ and the LomoChrome Purple film.
The heat is on for instant photography! We’re thrilled to present the summer babe of the Lomo’Instant Family – the new Lomo’Instant Havana Edition. With this ultra-hot instant package, you’re all set for super easy and creative Lomographic adventures! Take action-packed classic instant snaps, try cool multiple-exposed picnic snapshots or sliced-and-diced poolside scenes – the creative options are virtually endless.
Done shooting and want your films to be processed? We can process your colour and black & white 35mm, 120 or 110 films! Development, prints and scans are also included. (Service availability depends on your markets)
"Is it acceptable to photograph the homeless?" is one of the most hotly-debated topics when it comes to street photography. There are two opposing sides to this: those who believe it is, and those who don't. For those who do, capturing such photographs is mere documentation of the world around us. For those who don't, doing so is a form of exploitation.
Last month I was going to go full throttle into food photography. I'd cook up all kinds of scrumptious food and take mouth-watering pictures. But, as a famous Dutch line of poetry goes "between dream and deed / are laws, and practical objections." In other words, stuff came up.
For most people, winter means staying indoors and bundling up in warm clothes. But for a group of monks in Japan, the season means an opportunity to discipline themselves in a ceremony that requires them to wear minimal clothing and splash cold water on themselves.
