Location : Brussels, Belgium
Lomo Home : maxpinckers

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m 23 years old and live in Brussels, Belgium. I’ve grown up in different places around the world such as Bali, Australia and Singapore. I’m now doing my master year of photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent, Belgium. I’ve been a Lomographer for about five years and still passionately shoot cross-processed slide film with my LC-A+.

What attracted you to India?.

I’ve been to India a few times, especially to Mumbai. I love the energy of the city. I’ve had a strong attachment with the country since I was a child. It’s fascinating how so many people live harmoniously together and flow through the streets of the city. There is a unique vibe that can’t be found anywhere else.

Why did you choose to shoot with the LC-A+ ?

It was my first camera and it’s been with me everywhere I go ever since. It’s a great way to explore, meet people and venture to places you would normally never go to. The LC-A+ is a prefect tool for picking up quick samples of small interesting elements that prick the imagination.

One place where you’d wish to go back and shoot in India?

I’ll be in India from July to October 2011 to work on a new project based on the world of Indian Cinema. What interests me is how this fictional film-paradise infiltrates reality and to what extent they influence each other. The first place I will visit when I arrive is the Bollywood film city just outside Mumbai. I’ll be working on a medium format 6×7 camera, but will have my precious LC-A+ with me at all times!

One tip for fellow LC-A+ users?

Think before you shoot! Learn to read and use light, it’s the most important element when shooting with the LC-A+. Also, double expose consciously. Try to calculate where the dark and light areas of both images will flow together. Don’t be afraid to approach people or snap passerby’s on the streets. A golden smile and a look in their eye always helps.

The Lomo LC-A+ is known worldwide for its amazing features: automatic exposure, extended ISO range, and multiple and long exposure capabilities. Get your own Lomo LC-A+ now!
