Feeling rebellious? It's time for you to go to the EMP for the much awaited Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses exhibition. Not into Nirvana? How about seeing the Avatar and Battlestar Galactica exhibitions instead?
The EMP is the coolest museum in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll get to see everything from music, science fiction and pop culture.
Of course, the two biggest stars at the EMP are Pacific Northwest natives Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain. Right now you have the opportunity to see the world’s biggest Nirvana exhibition. As a Nirvana fan, I was impressed to see almost a whole floor of artifacts and photography of the band. I had to stop myself from buying everything in the gift shop.
Not a big Nirvana fan? That’s okay. How about going to the Avatar exhibition instead?
You’ll get to see authentic costumes and sketches from the movie. I loved the interactive displays! You can make your own Avatar plant and even become a full-sized Avatar in a big screen.
For a limited time, you can also go to the Battlestar Galactica exhibition seeing the full-sized spaceships (Viper Mark 2, Viper Mark 7 and Cylon Raider) was really impressive.
What do you do when you don't have much time in a city like New York but you want to see everything, feel the vibe and be part of the community, even for a short time? Jump on a bike and enjoy what trains, buses and cabs can never give you: be part of the city. Take a camera with you to capture the moments and sights you don't want to forget. I did this with my LC-A 120 and LomoChrome Purple film.
Doug DuBois spent five summers photographing the small neighborhood of Russell Heights in Ireland to capture the essence of coming of age: the inevitable loss of youth and the imminent transition into adulthood. Those four years resulted in his latest book, My Last Day At Seventeen. The book is a visual tale told through a collection of photographs and gives an alternative perspective through a comic narrative around the same subject. This creative combination of two distinct narratives in one book not only works wonderfully in visual terms; it also serves as an essential tool that lets the reader dig deeper into the story being told, making one go back to the book over and over again, yet from a new perspective, every single time.
Done shooting and want your films to be processed? We can process your colour and black & white 35mm, 120 or 110 films! Development, prints and scans are also included. (Service availability depends on your markets)

When a truly fascinating photograph hits you, it’s powerful enough to transport you to the story that is being told in that image. Such is what happens when one sees Suji Park's work for the first time. It’s as if you can actually hear and feel the details of each snapshot — the warmth of a late afternoon sun, the complex silence of nature or a dry and nostalgic solitude.
Join us for an evening with NYC-based fashion photographer Emily Soto. Concurrent with her exhibition at our Gallery Store, "Petzval Portrats: Bloom," Emily will discuss her work and experience using the New Petzval Art Lens in her work. Gather insight into the creative process of one of New York's favorite photographers. This event will take place on July 9 at 6:00 p.m.
