Last year I was asked to be best man at my friend’s wedding in Forte Dei Marmi in Italy. Forte Dei Marmi is a posh resort in Tuscany and is full of well to do rich Italians: http://www.vacanzeinversilia.com/eng/forte-dei-marmi.html.

The wedding itself took place in a traditional Italian church situated in the town centre. I was at the front with the wedding rings. After the ceremony and a few photos, the bride and groom biked their way on this pedalo type thing to the reception which took place on the beach front. Champagne was served on the actual beach in the scorching sun whilst photos were snapped.

After the initial drinks, dinner was served. This entailed a five course meal with various courses of antepasta. A folk duo accompanied the meal and when the meal was over I was able to give my best man’s speech. The groom didn’t seem too unhappy despite me recalling his love for plastic figurines.

This was followed by the party itself which was good fun and involved free booze. Even the English vicar got involved. This went on until 1 am and was followed by an impromptu sing song on the mic. Hangovers were evident the next day before everyone made their way back home to England.

I used my colorsplash to capture the party scene. However, I was busy enjoying myself to take too many photos!

Fourth of July Celebrations Throughout the Years

On July 4, 1776, the redrafted version of Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence made it to Congress. Some 90 years later it was made into an official holiday. Since then, Americans have celebrated Fourth of July in full regalia. Some parade in flag-themed costumes or party in their best dresses, while others bond with friends over beer in the park.

My Day in Analogue: Lazy Summer Days at Home

Every summer, my soul screams for a lazy, hot day back at my parents' home, for some good food, relaxation, and catching up with childhood friends. This year is no different, so I went back down to my small hometown in the very northeast of Belgium to enjoy a perfect laid back day doing nothing and everything. And of course, I brought my analogue cameras along to eternalize all of these small but grand moments in life.

The World According to Herr Willie: The Amazon

It was the Amazon which I had longed for my whole life. And when it was finally a set deal that I will travel to Brazil with two of my best friends for the Copa do Mundo (World Cup), we really had to start our adventure in the Amazon. I had known about this magical place deep in the rainforest. There was a lodge run by local people of indigenous background, with wooden houses that float on the water and a limited number of visitors. It was eco-tourism as how it should be. To preserve and to celebrate one of the most impressive locations I have seen so far.

    Changing Seasons: Durham in Autumn

Durham is a beautiful but tiny university city in the north of England famous for its amazing cathedral, which is one of Britain's best loved buildings. When I was studying at the university, I loved to go for crisp, autumnal walks around the cathedral and the river, kicking the leaves and basking in the golden glow of the season. The Lomography Redscale film perfectly captures the beauty of this time of year.

So here’s what we’ve been working on: an all new lomography.com

For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
