Valparaíso also known as “La Joya del Pacífico” (The Jewel of the Pacific) is the main port of Chile
The city is characterized by his curious geography formed by 44 hills that create a natural amphitheater towards the pacific ocean.

Valparaiso is recognized by his infinite stairs, narrow passages, numerous viewing-points and his former elevators.
Their hills are full of bohemian life, is the perfect place for musicians, painters, photographers and poets. In fact, Pablo Neruda used to live here in a house called “la sebastiana”.

One of the most beautiful and touristic hills in Valparaiso is “Cerro Alegre”. You can tour his beautiful corners and find places to spend the night, pubs and restaurants with live music, like bossanova or tango and visit the many paintings that adorn the houses and hills thanks to all of these features Valparaiso was named World Heritage by UNESCO in 2003.

I'd really like to visit this city, and Chile in general.... A few years ago, I stopped my "America Latina" trip in the south of Bolivia, just before the chilian border, and I promised myself that I'd come back one day to see Chile from north to south!! :))
