What do breakfast and photography have to do with one another? This question and many more will be answered at this workshop all about developing film with a few morning staples.
Have you ever wondered how photographers developed film and made prints before the technology of today? Well this is the workshop for you! We will be giving curious Lomographers a history lesson in alternative developing processes. After getting a little background information the group will be able to learn one alternative process that can still be used today. So get ready to become mad scientist for the afternoon and don’t forget to bring your exposed own black and white film to develop!
Tuesday, August 9th – 12PM
Admission is $10 ($7 for students.) Workshop admission includes a free roll of film and a loaner camera. All participants will receive a 10% coupon for the store! Be sure to arrive early if you want to borrow a camera as quantities are limited.
Join us for an evening with NYC-based fashion photographer Emily Soto. Concurrent with her exhibition at our Gallery Store, "Petzval Portrats: Bloom," Emily will discuss her work and experience using the New Petzval Art Lens in her work. Gather insight into the creative process of one of New York's favorite photographers. This event will take place on July 9 at 6:00 p.m.
Auckland-based photographer Richard Wong dabbles in everything from wedding photography to street photography, even Lego photography! In the midst of his busy schedule as photographer, camera reviewer and father, he sat down to speak with us about how he uses the Petzval 58 Bokeh Control Art Lens in his diverse practice.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
Born and raised in Montreal, Nathalie Daoust is a Canadian photographer who uses her camera to explore hidden realms around escapism and female sexuality. Her projects have taken her to obscure places all across the world, from the US to Brazil, from Japan to China and currently to North Korea.
