Madeira is a great place to go. An amazing volcanic landscape with deep valleys, ravines and miles of footpaths, which makes a right place to go if you are a nature lover. There are some places that you can’t miss; “Mercado dos Lavradores” [farmers market] in Funchal is one of them.
It is where the local farmers and fishermen take their products to sell and there is a great mix of colours and people. You will be amazed with the local fruits. In the market you will be welcomed by flower seller ladies in their traditional island costumes. Another thing that you can’t miss is the Toboggan ride on a wicker basket mounted on metal runners. From Monte to Funchal, two toboggan drivers will drive you down the streets, a really exiting experience. Another great experience is going to the “Pico do Arieiro”, the third highest peak on the island, so high that you can see the clouds below your feet. From there you can walk to the highest peak in Madeira if you just follow the footpath, but be careful because it can be really dangerous if the weather isn’t good.
And you shouldn’t miss the small villages like Santana, where you can see one of the Madeira’s trade marks, the “Palheiros”, brightly painted small houses with triangular shape was where people used to live here. And if you want to have a drink you can’t miss Camara de Lobos, a small fishing village were you can drink some of the Madeira wines and especially the “Niquita” and “Poncha”, two amazing local drinks that can make you go mad!!!
Ah, the grand New Year firework show and the Carnival are also great things to watch. These are only a few of the many things that make Madeira really special!

This article is a tribute to an important street photographer, Edouard Boubat. His pictures are characterized by great poetic touch, strong social sensitivity, and utmost respect for people and places. Inspired by a book which contains Boubat's photos taken in the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, I pay homage by showcasing some of my photos taken within the same geographic area.
Browsing through the Lomography website, you can find a lot of redscale shots, which are all done on color negative films. I asked myself if it’s possible to redscale a slide or chrome film and then cross process it. (And yes, it is.) In this tipster I’m going to teach you how to create the bloodiest homemade redscale film I've ever come across.

Singapore, like Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, is a likely stopover when you fly far. The city is a tiny urbanized hub but it's very favorable if you know some high-spirited locals. I was lucky to hook up with king kimbo (@hakimbo), who showed me around. He took my lame limbs to the Gardens by the Bay, an amazing place which was visually striking. I was hugging some artificial trees there when I found a baby—a very big baby.
