Tucked away in a perfectly unassuming building along Beach Road, Caramel Café is the perfect place to head to when seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life in Singapore.
I first stumbled across this little café after a heavy meal with a couple of friends. Having just consumed an extremely large amount of food, we were eager to find somewhere where we could sit down, have a drink and relax.
Enter Caramel Café, a tiny joint that caught our eye because it was so colorful and whimsically decorated. The entire cafe has a very retro feel, and is filled with quirky-ly upholstered sofa chairs that are extremely comfortable. It serves food (which I have not tried), and a large range of drinks. The café is also reasonably empty and quiet, creating a relaxed atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to catch up with friends. I definitely plan on coming back to this hidden find one day, whether it be alone (with a good book in hand, of course) or with a group of friends.
Caramel Café is located at Shaw Leisure Gallery, 100 Beach Road. It is only a short walk away from the nearest MRT station, Bugis MRT.

It was the Amazon which I had longed for my whole life. And when it was finally a set deal that I will travel to Brazil with two of my best friends for the Copa do Mundo (World Cup), we really had to start our adventure in the Amazon. I had known about this magical place deep in the rainforest. There was a lodge run by local people of indigenous background, with wooden houses that float on the water and a limited number of visitors. It was eco-tourism as how it should be. To preserve and to celebrate one of the most impressive locations I have seen so far.
