Walthamstow

When: All year long, even Christmas and New Years Day. I got a scholarship for traveling to the UK and Ireland and had to write a thesis about it. The most surprising part of the journey was a short trip to Walthamstow. I wanted to experience a bit of the album Park-life by Blur. They grew up around the corner in Hackney and so the picture on the album shows two dogs racing.

They do. Many times a day in the Greyhound stadium of the Millennium in Walthamstow. What ever that means. And the fellow english men come before and after their work and in between to set bets on the races. Fantastically awkward for a lomographer from the mainland I enjoyed the place very much and bought a T-shirt, which I was looking for since ages…..

Summer Hot Spots: Blaavand, Denmark (Part Two)

It was my first return visit in about 20 years. I took the chance and packed as many cameras as possible into my luggage. In part two of my journey log, I'm going to show you the pictures I took with my Lomography cameras.

Flying the Canon Flag with the Canon EOS-1N

Who do you think deserves the crown for the best 35mm SLR camera? Canon and Nikon will always be in a two-horse race to the top spot in the consumer to prosumer SLR/DSLR market, having developed reputations as two of the biggest go-to brands. Representing the Canon corner, I can safely say the Canon EOS-1N is by far the best SLR I have ever used.

I'm Nick Page, a graphic designer based in the UK. After 20 years of working in advertising, I returned to film photography five years ago and found that the analogue life was just what I needed to get away from the "pixel perfect" images I deal with every day in my job.

    Finally, My Own Petzval Lens

In April of this year I had the chance to test the Petzval Lens and to write a review on it for the German photography forum Kwerfeldein. The lens excited me from the very beginning, at the time it was introduced on Kickstarter. I was afraid that once I had tested the lens, I would want to have one of my own! Well, that’s what happened; a year later, I finally bought my very own Petzval lens.
