Since my friend Adam has started tattooing, he refers to his home as the place where regrets are made. Despite this slightly pessimistic slant, I have had many happy a time there, creating tattoos (or regrets depending on how you look at it.
I love going to Adam’s in Leeds’ city centre because it is so lively and conveniently located. I also love how each flat has its own coloured balcony. Both Adam and his fiancee Helen are very arty and creative people so aside from all the mad stuff adorning the flat (inflatable palm trees, homemade bunting etc), there is always some fun craft activity happening in the lounge (often involving googly eye stickers). The last time I stopped by, Adam was in the process of making Helen some fun festival wellies!
Once Adam started tattooing last year, he clearly was going to need people to tattoo. Fortunately for him, he has a group of loyal, tattoo-loving and trusting friends around him. After having a look through his designs I found it hard not to fall in love with his brilliant drawings and had him tattoo me 4 times in a 6-month period.
Once we started to go to his house regularly, for both fun and serious tattooing, all sorts of changes began happening there. In summer last year, Dave even had his beloved long hair shaved off!
Fortunately for both of us, after having been to Concord Street numerous times over the last 3 years, no regrets have happened so far (fingers crossed)!
