If you thought the Tirrenian sea was a whole deep blue thing, then mate, you’re wrong. There’s a single spot on the
boring regular coast where everything grows not only bananas but also coconuts. When you’re in Vada, near Livorno,
make sure you spend a couple of hours at Spiagge Bianche, which for you English-speakers should sound something
like “Spee-ah-je Bee-ahn-ke”.
Once there you’ll dip your toes into pure white sand while losing your sight towards
an incredible Mexico-style sky-blue sea. And every lad is windsurfing and every chick is sunbathing under rainbow
coloured umbrellas. You’ll be hell busy on every kind of lomoactivity on a very tiny moment, I do assure you.
For the sake of truth and history you’ll be surprised (or maybe disturbed) to find out that this celestial thing
is neither an unaccountable God’s blessing nor created by some crafty Hollywood scenery designers.
It’s the carbonated soda factory you can see on your left releasing its waste waters into the sea and painting
everything carbon-white. Howdy! My chemical beach alas! Fire some rolls on its plastic waters and sand and be
careful because everything is heavily polluted even if the local day-off people don’t seem to care at all.
Pure artificial marine nonsense. And a little bit of a shame as well.
If you're lacking in inspiration and are tired of the same journey into work each day fear not! With this simple filter technique you can inject a whole new burst of colour into your photographs. Read on for more information.
Only an hour and a half away, Platja D'Aro is a very nice alternative to the crowded beaches in Barcelona. If you get there early, you'll get a very nice spot. It's great to go there with kids and the whole family
Have you ever had the feeling that you plan too much? It’s not a bad thing, really. It’s just that you may be missing out on some of the greater things happening at the precise moment you’re plotting your schedule, and you’re missing a lot if all you do is plan all the time.
Last week, I received the strangest thing through my letterbox. It was a postcard with this photograph on 1 side. The photo is of me sitting by the sea whilst I was on vacation last year. But I have literally no idea who took this shot – That’s why I came here, to ask for your help on my search for my mysterious photographer and to try and get to bottom of the riddle they wrote me. Please help me if you can!
Before moving to New York City, I was told that people keep to themselves. Thus, I set forth to put myself out there and create connections with the people in my community, using the Lomo'Instant as an icebreaker! I was proven wrong—if you show an ounce of kindness to anyone, they will overflow in return.
If you've stumbled upon last month's feature on Dutch photographer Gregor Servais, then you must be curious about his impressive pinhole works. Whether you're a pinhole aficionado or someone new to this craft, read on and find out more about the pinhole master in an insightful interview!
If you want to spend a weekend near the sea but do not want to restrict yourself to the usual routine consisting of the hotel and the beach, I recommend taking a trip to Cesena and Cesenatico, two towns located on the Adriatic coast of central Italy. I did mine by combining sunbathing and cultural excursions. This was documented with my trusty Lomo LC-A. Have a look!
Halloween is just a little over week away, and if you're on the lookout for a kickin' old-school costume for that party you're throwing (or attending, or if you simply want to dress up to mark the occasion!), you might want to consider these worn by merry Halloween revelers from the '70s.
There are just days that you feel you’re colored black and blue. But somehow, you can still see beauty in the most unexpected moments. This series of photos from Silvia Grav silently communicates a tornado of kept emotions.
Read on dear friend and I will weave a story for you. There may be more questions than answers raised by this peculiar tale. But if it’s clarity you seek, have no fear, things will become clear in time (they always do, don’t they?). So rub the Sandman’s dust from your sleepy eyes and take a journey with me. If you think you have an answer when we reach the end, please do share it in the comments!
We love our cameras. We especially love it when you love our cameras. And we get super pumped when you tell us about it. So when the LC-A 120 got a stunning review from the fellas at The Phoblographer, we were giddy with delight! Not only did they give it a killer, in-depth review, but they also bestowed it with a 5/5 rating and Editor's Choice award! Read on for a little taste of the review and then head to their site to read the whole thing!
