How does the La Sardina perform when all you can do is stay home and spend time with the family?
Apart from being a cute camera, I wondered what the camera can do when I’m stuck at home without much subjects to shoot…and of course a lack of natural light source (the sun!) was a concern. Loaded a roll of ISO400 film and luckily, the cute flash was on standby for some serious brightening work that day.
After this first roll, I’m pretty confident to say that even in the outdoors on an average sunny day… the La Sardina can be used with the flash (as fill flash) as long as you have the milky diffuser cap installed on the flash. It helps fill in where Mr. Sun doesn’t do well without overexposing the shots. Oh…also set the flash to the 1/8 setting if you are shooting close (to the subject).
Having only 2 distance settings also makes the La Sardina a very quick and handy camera for times when you just can’t afford to lose the moment. One turn on the front of the lens and you’re ready to fire.
The wide lens certainly helps capture most things you see (and those you don’t) … so don’t worry and just point the camera right in front of the subject and fire!
Our Lomographers love their Petzval and, as a result, they have taken it to the most amazing places: gardens full of green, immensely busy cities and breathtaking landscapes. Yet, sometimes, all you need is what you have right at home. Keeping family memories with the Petzval Lens never looked this good, and golfpunkgirl does it well.

For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
