My First 7 Months as a Lomographer

6

In this article, I am going to tell you the story of how I got into the world of Lomography.

It all started in a month that I can’t remember when I went to a store in my town that sells vinyl records, and vintage stuff. In the corner of the store I noticed some strange photos and some cameras, different from any other cameras I had ever seen. I asked the store owner what those cameras were and that’s when I learned what Lomography was.

Fast forward some months and I was ordering my first camera, a Fisheye 1. It took 2 weeks to get here, but the moment I opened the box I started using it right away.

When the first roll got back from the lab I found the photos to be really amazing.

After that, a couple of months later, I bought an ActionSampler, because I had been fascinated with the multi-lens cameras.

My third camera was a Smena Symbol.

After that I haven’t bought any new camera. I did try an experiment but it messed up, but in the end I liked the photos.

Overall, these past seven month have been really nice. I am planning on buying a new camera, maybe a Holga or a Diana F+. I am also planning on launching a blog to document my analog adventures.
Thank you for reading this and I apologize for the long text.

The Magic Yet To Come: Part 3

“Let me tell you about my life turning blue”. Those were the first words the guy on the bench said as he sat down beside me whilst I was eating my lunch. Usually, I prefer to eat alone but there was something about this opening sentence which really intrigued me; so I told him “Sure buddy, go ahead. Tell me about your life in blue”.

Spinner 360: Pull the Cord and Let the Magic Happen!

The story between the Spinner 360 and I goes way back to the year 2010, when Lomography decided to send me a beta model of the Spinner 360 to test. It was a complete surprise! I thought, "What the hell is that?" as I first took this camera out of the package. Then, when my little brother grabbed it from me and pulled the cord, it buzzed and turned 360°! We all had the same expression: "Whoa..."
