Not yet a year old the Lomography Peru already launched their first LomoWall exhibition. After long days with endlessly sticking photos together one after the other, working on color patterns, a bunch of pizzas and some of those last minutes emergencies, we proudly present:
It was around 7:30pm that night when we opened the doors of the gallery in Corriente Alterna. The friends and members of the community were looking forward to finally seeing what the hell we’ve been doing for the last few weeks… And once the doors were opened, people wouldn’t stop coming in – within a couple of minutes the whole gallery was crowded!
The first exhibition room showed the real history of Lomography, from the year when LOMO started to produce the LC-A, continuing with the first LomoWall exhbition in NY-Moscow, the launch of the Fisheye and other productst until the day we started the LomoWall project in Lima!
In the next room, visitors could see the BBC documentary “The Lomo camera”. And once you got to the third room you could finally see the 4.000 pictures, forming a huge wall of thousends of happy moments, spontaneus smiles and all taken at the coast, in the moutains and jungles all over the world!
Some visitors started to search themself or their friends in the wall and making fun of those funny faces.
The pictures of the workshops we did on previous weekends were also featured on one wall so everybody could see what’s going on with the Lomography community in Peru.
After many photos sessions, interview for some tv shows and many many many drinks, we took one last picture with all the guys from Lomography Peru and members of the community that helped us to build the wall!
If you are around Lima, don’t miss this exhibition, it’s still on display until Saturday, 18th of June at Corriente Alterna (Av. De la Aviacion 500 Miraflores).
This is just the begining for an analogue future here in Peru, Lomo on!
