Selfridges, an Ideal Place to Spend the Afternoon

2

Selfridges, in the heart of London, Oxford Street is one of the world's finest department stores. With 6 floors of retail space, there is plenty to see and do.

As mentioned, the shop has six floors offering ten acres of shopping space, eleven places to eat, two exhibition halls and countless services. Ranging from high fashion to hi-fi, wardrobe coordination to wedding lists, you are bound to find what you want.

Apart from shopping, sometimes there are exhibitions. At present, they have Project Ocean, Selfridges is partnering with more than 20 environmental conservation groups to celebrate the beauty of the ocean, highlighting the issue of over-fishing, helping everyone to understand the threats to the ocean and make positive choices about the right fish to buy and eat.

Selfridges Windows is probably one of or if the not, the best, down Oxford Street, with many windows to dress, each one is definitely a treat.

Loose peacocks, water buffalos and the magical character of the island were also a reason for me to go and spend one Sunday afternoon there, with my LC-A+ and the LomoChrome Purple film.

The World According to Herr Willie: The Amazon

It was the Amazon which I had longed for my whole life. And when it was finally a set deal that I will travel to Brazil with two of my best friends for the Copa do Mundo (World Cup), we really had to start our adventure in the Amazon. I had known about this magical place deep in the rainforest. There was a lodge run by local people of indigenous background, with wooden houses that float on the water and a limited number of visitors. It was eco-tourism as how it should be. To preserve and to celebrate one of the most impressive locations I have seen so far.

Transient Living: Armitage & McMillan in Denver, Colorado

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!

It’s as if you can actually hear and feel the details of each snapshot — the warmth of a late afternoon sun, the complex silence of nature or a dry and nostalgic solitude.
