During the weekends, one should watch a movie, drink some coffee, and have a sandwich. To us, Yau Ma Tei is the best location to spend our weekends.
We love to watch a movie quietly in small boutique cinemas, hence, our favourite cinema is Broadway Cinema at Yau Ma Tei. After the movie, at nearby Kubrick Cafe, we can read some books, or view an exhibition. We can also order some coffee, sandwiches, and pasta, and spend a leisurely afternoon.
If we’re craving for more food, we will pay a visit to Meidu Cafe at Temple Street. Meidu Cafe dates back to the 1950s and is a witness to Temple Street’s transformation over the last six decades. On our first visit, we felt the strong retro atmosphere (of course, this is applicable to us; for many others, this is the place of their childhood memories), we took a seat and stared blankly at the food menu. We heard that this cafe serves nice toasts and great steamed pork ribs rice. Although even when we don’t feel very hungry, we still order all the tasty stuff PLUS hot milk tea in order to reminisce about the last century.
It is a source of happiness where one can go to relax from the hustle and bustle of this city.
