The Bird Park is one of the theme parks located within the city of Kuala Lumpur’s Lake Park. The Bird Park was built in 1991 and boasts a collection of two thousand birds and has about two hundred different species.
The unique feature of the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is that different species of birds can roam free in the park, visitors feel like they are inside a giant bird cage, and can interact freely with the birds, including feeding them. During the course of my visit, I came across all sorts of birds. Some will gamely pose for a photo while others will run away at the first sight of human beings.
The most famous birds in the park are the colorful performer Mynah, free roaming Peacock, and rare and the endangered Sarawak Hornbill. Of course, some special and aggressive birds are kept apart in huge cages. In the park, visitors can shoot as many photos as they wish. In addition, there are restaurants, an information center, and souvenir stalls in the park. There are even free performances by the birds to keep guests entertained.
