Kirkland, My Favorite Suburb in Seattle

Want to visit the Puget Sound region? Kirkland has everything from restaurants, art galleries, arts center, tattoo shops, parks, beaches, and bronze sculptures.

From June until September, the first thing I would recommend to do in Kirkland would be the Kirkland Farmers Market. It’s every Wednesday you’ll get plenty of food (locally produced) options such as fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, jams, breads, and pastries. There’s also a lot of jewelry, and arts and crafts.

In addition, you can go every Friday from May until October to the Juanita Friday Market where everything featured is from the state of Washington. You’ll find fruits, vegetables, and beautiful flowers.

My favorite thing to do in Kirkland: Water Activities. I tried everything from boating, sailing, kayaking and parasailing (I went parasailing with Pacific Parasail). The best boat tour is Argosy Cruises, which departs from Kirkland City Dock (for more info, call: 206 623-1445). If you’re not a big fan of swimming in Lake Washington, you can go to Peter Kirk Community Pool (340 Kirkland Avenue (425) 587-3335).

The best beach parks in the area are: Houghton Beach Park and Waverly Beach Park.

For all you night birds, your first stop should be the Wild Rover Irish Pub (they have the best trivia nights). I also love the Comedy Club (www.laughscomedy.com).

My recommendations for pubs are: Tiki’s Bar & Grill (www.tikijoeswetbar.com), Lucky 7 Saloon (www.thelucky7.com), and the Brickhouse Pub especially if you love arcade games (www.brickhousepub.net)

If you want to relax after too many nights out and hangovers, go to the Soul Ease Holistic Yoga Spa (www.soulease.net), I usually get the “Rejuvenator” treatment.

If you want to enjoy wine tasting, you should visit the Trellis Bar for Crush Hour (daily from 4:00pm to 6:00pm)

The best restaurant for lunch in Kirkland is Hector’s (http://www.hectorskirkland.com/), you can check their menu here: http://www.hectorskirkland.com/lunch.gif

Don’t forget to visit my favorite tattoo artist: http://www.conormooreink.com/KIRKLANDTATTOO.html

Conor is amazing, he did my phoenix tattoo and three others and is by far the best.

Get ready for the sunsets!

Journey to the Ends of the Earth: From the Arctic to Antarctica

Very few of even the most intrepid travelers get to set sail to the Arctic and the Antarctic. A lomographer known to the Community as stouf, however, was able to set foot on both polar regions. While the rare opportunity to visit these uncommon destinations came in parcel with his profession, he did not forget to bring along his trusty cameras and favorite film to capture scenes from the expeditions.

    Experiencing the Rainforest Adventure Experience

When I was a kid, one of my greatest joys was to go to the park. I especially loved playgrounds. It didn't matter how may other children there were, as long as I could have my turn to go on the slide and and sit on the swing. These days, enjoying one's childhood has become so different. Technology has stolen the interest of children in more physically demanding yet fun activities.
