The Diana World Tour is making its Canadian Debut at the "Lomography Gallery Store Toronto” and we’re calling on you to make it the best stop the tour has ever seen. Submit your best and most beloved Diana F+ Lomographs to be part of our Vignettes exhibition which will be up from August 4th – August 25th.

What the heck is a vignette you say? Well, It’s a short, impressionistic scene that focuses on one moment in time or gives a particular insight into a character, idea, or setting”. With merely a few words and a few specific details, it gives one a penetrating view into the life and motivations of your subject.

What we need from you!
Submit no more than 5 of your favorite Lomographs captured with the plastic lens of the Diana F+ that are in some way shape or form, inspired by Canada. That’s right; since it’s the first time the Diana World Tour will be landing here we are opening up this part of the exhibit to all LomoCanadians! Be it your favorite people, places, or treasured moments in time the image should represents how Canada makes you feel and the kind of life you live in it.

What you get!
We will choose the very best images to display on the walls of the Lomography Gallery Store Toronto during the Diana World Tour! Hoards of people will come through the shop to see the traveling Dietrich Collection of vintage Diana F+ clones and your analogue masterpieces starting with our Opening Party on Thursday, August 4th. Winners will also get 20 piggy points to be used online or in the store, and will walk away with their large custom print at the end of the exhibition!

How to submit?
Upload no more than 5 of your favorite Lomographs to this post. You may also send us your images in a zipped file via YouSendIt.com addressed to shoptoronto@lomography.com . Please put “TORONTO VIGNETTES” as the subject line, and label all files and the zip with your name, and LomoHome username if you have one. Please size all images to 2,500 × 2,500 pixels, 600 dpi, JPEG 10. Your file size should be no bigger than 3 MB. If you do not have a scan of this size, you may send us your negative and we will scan it for you. If you do not have a scan large enough, or your negative, we unfortunately cannot accept your image for the exhibition.

If you want to barrow a Diana F+ to shoot for this contest, come on by and ask nicely. Bringing flowers wouldn’t hurt any either but we can live without them.

Glastonbury As Seen Through the New Petzval 85 Lens by Taio Konishi

The Glastonbury Festival is arguably one of the most anticipated and renowned music festivals in the world. It is a joy to be able to watch it, and a privilege to capture scenes on and off stage. Apart from creating beautiful portraits, the Petzval Lens is great for adding an albeit subtle drama to the already spectacular scenes of music festivals. Japanese photographer Taio Konishi photographed this year's Glastonbury with a Petzval 85mm Lens, and here are some of the photos. He also talks about his Petzval-meets-Glastonbury experience in this exclusive.

    A Color Remix

It's human nature to be restless and imaginative. The real may be interpreted as what one sees or how one sees something. For the daydreamer, a scene from nature transforms into a canvas. Suddenly a field makes room for chemical coloring, all those anachronistic streaks that somehow look right. Or else, those beautiful colors amplified or subdued to their most pictorial shades. All in the world of trial-and-process film photography.
