Padang Kota Lama or Esplanade is located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It has some memorable places to visit such as Fort Cornwallis and a few nice old buildings.
Coming here by ferry would be nice if you’re from the mainland. After exiting the ferry, turn right and go straight ‘til you find this place. It’s easy to find as it’s quite a happening place.
When you want to find Pasembor (local food) you must go here to sample the local fare. Unfortunately, we came here late at night although we weren’t here for the food; we actually came here to skate. :D
Bring your buddies, skateboard, and lots of energy so you can make the most of street skating here. There are some stairs, a ledge that you can gap or grind on. The marble is also quite smooth for power sliding. The guard will not disturb you while you skate unless you disturb him first.
If you get hungry, it’s easy to find some food and drinks here as there are many local stalls selling until late at night.
Here’s a video that I made of us skating here:
We’re not pro skaters though, we just go skating here for fun.:D
