Vintage Vogue: Classic Fashion Photography

2

Aside from jazz pizzazz and Hollywood glamour, photography has also been synonymous to another glittering world--fashion!

Fashion photography has been around since the turn of the 20th century, and the genre has been producing countless classic photos that still define glamour and style. The first collection of fashion photos were published in 1856, featuring Virginia Oldoini, Countess of Castiglione in her official court attire—making her the very first fashion model.

[The Queen of Hearts. Virginia Oldoini, Countess di Castiglione, photographed by Pierre-Louise Pierson (Photo via Vintage Ephemera)] This is a great photograph because the woman is seen from from her head, down to her feet. She does not have to act, in front of a camera.
