If you have an hour or so to spare around Southsea Esplanade, pay a visit to Canoe Lake, and rent a pedalo that looks like a swan and enjoy!
Not too far behind the sea front at Portsmouth will you find some lovely green space, beside the model village. There is a lovely little lakeside cafe, crazy golf and children’s play area in the huge green space but as always, I had my heart set on boating!
I am a bit confused as to why this is called Canoe Lake as there was not one canoe in sight. The lake however dates back to 1886 so perhaps canoeing was its original purpose. There are however, some magnificent pedalos shaped like swans and ducks, which had me all daft. We chose a lovely white swan and headed out around “Keep Off” Island a few times in the sunshine.
The whole area is very picturesque with kids feeding ducks (real ones, not the pedalos obviously!), old men sailing remote control boats and people sitting on a long line of benches just watching the world go by. It was an inexpensive afternoon (about £7 I think) and we had a lovely time, although pedaling can be hard work when your companion is in the back napping!
I went with my fiance and we had a right giggle though I am sure this is somewhere you could take your mother too (especially if it means more piggies, lol).
Have you all watched "Eat, Pray, Love"? I was inspired by Julia Roberts, who rode a bicycle in that movie, so I decided to rent one and try it myself! This happened two years ago but I still remember my biking route. To all of you who haven't been to Ubud, I think you should visit the place and try to go around in a bicycle!
It looks like it’s time to get out the cameras and pack your bags. Together with the Shift School Dresden, we offered amazing prizes, including an insider trip to Paris, where you can take part in photography courses and visit the world-famous Paris Photo Tradeshow. Of course, there’s also a ton of Lomography prizes at stake like cameras, accessories and film so that the winner can capture memories from the trip on film. And now to announce the winners!
Movies based on literature isn’t a new concept, sure, and the last decade or so alone saw an influx of book adaptations. But have you ever pondered on just how many of these were inspired by poems? Have a look at our list for this week, and find out if you’ve already seen any of them!
Common sense tells us that when the weather gets bitterly cold, it's best to stay inside and drink a cup of something warm. But when you have a primo lens like the Petzval, it's hard not to go on an adventure! Equipped with nerves of steel and a Petzval lens, these Lomographers around the globe bundled up and braved the conditions to capture the top 10 wintry (not so) hot spots.
Leuven is a typical Belgian university city that is full of students, but feels a bit like a ghost city when all the students go home for the weekend. Nevertheless, this is the perfect time to pay a visit to this beautiful historic city just right next to Brussels. If you like culture, cobblestoned streets, creativity, and Belgian beers, this is your perfect day trip!
Previously, I suggested that you walk around Ubud. For he second part of my Lomography Day Trip piece on Ubud, allow me to show you places that are worth visiting. Don't worry, you won't get lost! If you do want to get lost, just rent a bicycle and ride around!

As the largest park in Union Country, New Jersey, The Watchung Reservation makes an ideal venue for hiking and outdoor photography. Visitors can look forward to a trailside, lake that freezes in winter, and a Science Center, among other natural attractions. With cameras and the new Petzval Lens in tow, the Lomography NYC lab team and I paid the park a visit, and this is what we found.
Summer is full of color so using black and white film might not be the first thing that comes to mind. Yet the summer sun works out beautifully on black and white film. Like to give it a try? I've come across the best light at the train station during rush hour!

This is a tutorial for the adventurous Lomographers, for those brave enough to do their own B&W and C-41 work but lacking the confidence to move onto E6. Fear no more! I am an enthusiastic home developer, just like the rest of you, I am not a chemical lab wizard! So if I can pull this off, so can the rest of you. Take a deep breath, relax, and read on. By the end of this article I hope you'll have mustered the courage to give it a go yourselves!
