Hey, I Have Taken This Shot, Too! – Exhibit One: a Photo of Someone Who Is Taking a Photo

39

Have you ever seen a photo and thought "Hey, I have taken this photo, too!" instantly? I have, multiple times. Like selfportraits in front of a mirror. Or some buildings. Or a photo of someone who is taking a photo. Like the one below…

This photo was taken by my dear friend Armin – see my first submission

Have you taken a similar photo of someone who is taking a photo? Or wanna take one? Then please submit it here. Let’s see how this turns out and create a gallery of great similar photos…

Fresh from the LomoLab: My Summer at a Campsite

I prefer being outdoors whenever I go on a vacation at the seaside. For this reason, I always choose to stay at a campsite instead of a hotel. This year, I stayed at a beautiful one in the south of Italy. Here is a series of photos which I received a few days ago from the excellent LomoLab service, taken with my Sprocket Rocket. Have a look after the jump!

    Lomography's Little Lessons: Film Speed

Sometime between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago, a boy in northern Afghanistan was born with a gene mutation that hindered his eyes from producing melanin and thus from turning brown. He had blue eyes. If you see someone with blue eyes today, he is a descendant of this unlucky fellow. I am one of those weird folks and apart from feeling like a mutant and being Angelina Jolie’s secret sister, I am sensitive to light like an ISO 6,400 film.

A Salute to the Masters: Judo (A Tribute to Sabine Weiss)

This article is a tribute to the street and humanist photographer Sabine Weiss. Considered a living legend in street photography, she likes to photograph daily lives of people, trying to capture the emotions she recognizes around her. Weiss like to photograph people of all ages but she especially loves to take photos of children, masterfully immortalizing their spontaneous gestures and emotions. For this article, I was inspired by one of her rare sports photos of some children practicing judo. Do you want to know more about this great artist? Well, read on!

12 Months, 12 Projects: July - Freelensing Fun

My 2015 resolution is to do 12 photography projects, one for every month. In July, I tried freelensing or unscrewing the lens from my SLR and holding it in front of the camera body. By tilting the lens slightly I was able to change the focus. For this experiment, I used my Konstruktor and Olympus OM-1.
