It's always been her favourite place to spend her spare time.
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday again so I thought about taking my mother-in-law to an especially nice place on that equally special day. There is a lake called the “Lister”. It’s about a half hour drive from where we live. My mother-in-law has always loved this lake. Her parents took her there when she was a child and she learned to swim in this lake when she was little. (Hard for me to believe that young parents these days take their child to the swimming pool once or twice a week and after a number of weeks the child is supposed to swim – or not).
She spent hours having fun there when she was a young girl and when she got married and had three boys, they still spent their weekends at this lake. Her husband and the boys went fishing at the Lister and she always joined them .
Now the boys are grownup and one of them takes me to the lake every now and then. I must say it is one beautiful place! It is just so pretty, I now understand why my mother-in-law loves this place so much. She is now a little bit old, quite sick, but still tries to spend some time at the water.
It is Mother’s Day on Sunday so of course we will take her to the Lister!
Some time ago, my parents-in-law gave me an old Polaroid camera that they used during my wife's childhood. After some investigation, I found out that Polaroid had stopped making instant film. But the factory in Enschedé, the Netherlands had been taken over by The Impossible Project, so I bought a package of fresh film and gave it a try!
You know that place you always picture in your head when you think of your dream holiday destination? That was Machu Picchu for me. Last May I decided to go for it and embarked on a two-and-a-half-week trip around Peru with my boyfriend.
Without a truly established means of identifying criminals, one can only imagine the difficulties that law enforcers prior to the late 19th century had faced. True, the invention of photography had been of great help in documenting rogues photographically, but then police had yet to figure out a way to organize so that retrieving photos and pertinent information would take less time.
Thanksgiving is marked by families gathering to share a hearty meal and simply enjoy being around one another. More than a year ago, grazie had to spend the holiday on the Amtrak's Southwest Chief en route to Chicago. She might have been away from her own family on such an important day, but grazie was fortunate to find good company with her fellow travelers.
For three months last year, I traveled to 11 cities of eight Southeast Asian countries. My first destination from my hometown of Seoul was Vietnam. After 10 days in Hanoi, I joined a group tour to Sapa, an area known for its hill tribes. This is a photo story of my two days and one night in this remote but vibrant place.
We think Lomography's 10 Golden Rules can be adapted to cover all manner of subjects, including love. So just in time for Valentines Day, we asked Cupid to swap his bow for a pen and lay down the law ... Read on to find out more!
It's late October in Copenhagen and summer was well and truly behind us. With the nights drawing in, the chances of going out with one of my cameras was slim. All was not lost at this time of year, however, as it allowed me time to focus on my own personal music projects—I am a professional composer/musician and audio engineer at my own studio by day.
As an undergraduate majoring in Fine Arts, budding South Korean photographer Jinveun often spends her time drawing portraits for her projects. Inevitably, it was through this that she had started to seriously consider rendering portraits through the medium of photography.

I have to admit that I’ve never liked using flash in public places. In some situations it can be distracting. Like concerts, for example. Can you imagine a live music show where people decide all of a sudden to use it at the same time?
I've photographed this city many times in the past—in color, black and white, and even in redscale. One day in March, the streets of Manila once again became my subject. Only this time, they turned into otherworldly places as the LomoChrome Turquoise drastically shifted its colors...at least on film.
Ever since the Pixelstick came out, I've been dying to try it out. This past week, I finally got my chance! With one goal in mind — getting some super cool light-painting shots — I grabbed some friends for an amazing session with my Lomo'Instant and the Pixelstick.
