Between themselves, April's Top Uploaders have uploaded more than 10,000 photos for the last 30 days. 'Wow' is the only word that comes to mind!
You’d think these guys owned their own processing lab, with all the photos that they keep developing and uploading for us to see. I wonder what their secret is… Whatever it is, we’re all thankful to them for always delighting us with their consistently awe-inspiring photos week after week, month after month. Good job!
Hey, lomographers! Have your stories heard and lovely photos seen by your fellow community members and analog photography enthusiasts. Read this special call-out for community-written articles to be published between March 30 and the much-awaited Film Photography Day on April 12. As always, writing for the Magazine earns you Piggies!
Our community will never run out of ideas when it comes to doubles and film swaps. Case in point, this mind-boggling self-portrait that indeed screams how much he is into film photography. Congratulations to earlybird for having our Photo of the Day!
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
Hundreds of thousands of photographs have been shared in the community for the past twelve months and we cannot help but commend those that really stood out and captured everyone's attention. Let's take a look back at this great year through this selection of landscapes and portraits that make up the most popular photos of 2014.
This article is a tribute to the great Portuguese film director Manoel de Oliveira, who died last April 2. With an old Praktica loaded with a roll of black and white film, I captured so enthusiastically his city Oporto (Porto) with its famous Ribeira district, the most characteristic of the Lusitanian town. It was here that more than 70 years ago, Manoel De Oliveira created a timeless masterpiece: "Aniki-Bòbò"!
Lomography NYC is celebrating Film Photography Day for the third consecutive year. We are inviting all lomographers and analog enthusiasts to mark your calendars and come join us on Saturday, April 11. To commemorate this day, we have organized an exciting line-up of events including live music and drinks!
The book is slated for release beginning next month, but we don't have to wait that long to have a glimpse of the marvelous photochrom images of the United States of America between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Have a look at some of the photos featured in "An American Odyssey" after the jump!
The new year is still young, but it seems as if it'll be over quickly. My organizer is already filled with entries until June. 2015 will probably be worse than 2014 when it comes to having time off so I could take some analogue shots. Anyway, there are some photography-related things that I really want to get done. It is probably best to set some goals if I only have very limited time.
There is nothing than a photo shot at the perfect moment. Henri Cartier Bresson's principle on "The Decisive Moment" is a principle that we should still follow to this day. A perfectly-timed photo creates impact, whether it's one of a friend jumping into the pool or a couple emerging from the ceremony on their wedding day. For this rumble, we want to see that breathtaking moment, shot at the perfect time.
