Your Companion in Any Weather - Lomography CN 400iso

1

It was a crazy idea to go to Rome for 3 days in January, and it was even crazier to wander around all day with 5 minutes of sun and 5 minutes of rain!! Thankfully I had the Lomography Color Negative 400iso with me, so I could shoot in any weather condition.

The Colosseum

I was in Rome at the end of January and believe me that was not a good idea! The weather was changing every few minutes and the city just looked gloomy without any sun around.

Right on day 1, I decided to load up my Lomo LC-A+ with the Lomography Color Negative 400 iso film. That was a smart move! This film allowed me to shoot both in sun and also during sessions of clouds.

Also, this film allowed me to capture such blue skies!! I love the effect the skies and the clouds have on photos. I even sometimes only shoot the sky. The CN film not only captured the skies, but also produced such vivid blue hues that I’m glad I did not opt to shoot with a slide film on that day. The sky is so evident that in some of the photos, the structures look a bit on the dark side. But I did like that as well since it made some of the historic places look more prominent.

So now, Lomography Color Negative 400iso is my favorite film to shoot during gloomy and dark days!

    The Instant Project

It was a cold and cloudy winter day in 2012 when I came up with the idea of compiling photographs of people's faces. I decided that the most personal way to do it is through instant shots. They are one of a kind and you immediately have something in your hands.

Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 120: Perfect for Endless Multiple Exposures!

About two years ago or so, I purchased the Lomography Redscale XR 50-200. I saved just one roll of this film and waited for the right moment to shoot with it. In April this year, I just wasn't able to take it anymore! I loaded this film into my Lubitel 166+, which I realized I hadn't used for maybe about six months. One idea came to mind: taking crazy multiple exposures!

    Solar Eclipses and Beyond

The skies were busy with magic today — or maybe it was just the solar eclipse that caused all that ruckus? Decked out in space-age goggles and other various sun viewing paraphernalia, groups of people gathered as the moon moved between the sun and the earth this morning across Europe. Only a few lucky folks witnessed the total eclipse, and here at Vienna HQ, the greatest moment of the partial eclipse happened at 10:45 A.M. and lasted only a few minutes. We stopped everything we were doing to join the sky watchers crew and share in this astonishing moment. Check out these brilliant solar-inspired shots to celebrate the occasion!

The Magic Yet To Come: Part 1

Here’s a random and rather mysterious tale for you folks. Just the other day, I was at a local bar with a few friends. It was much like any other evening; we were sipping a couple of cocktails, recounting our adventures, falling over ourselves with laughter and half-drunkenly meditating on the meaning of life (a scientist once told me it’s 42 by the way). But then something truly strange happened. Read on to hear my story and please make a comment with your guess at the end!

    Analog By Nature

It's late October in Copenhagen and summer was well and truly behind us. With the nights drawing in, the chances of going out with one of my cameras was slim. All was not lost at this time of year, however, as it allowed me time to focus on my own personal music projects—I am a professional composer/musician and audio engineer at my own studio by day.
