Behind a plain wall in an unassuming East Dulwich Road lies a wonder to behold. If you are into collectibles of all types, there will be something in here that you just have to buy. Of course, it's also a dream location for pics!
The Vintage Shop as it is known, is filled to the brim with things to make your home look ‘cool, quaint and quirky’ you can find things in here that will transport you straight back to your childhood. Some of the shop is outside and undercover and has brilliant displays of old signs, watering cans, pots, chairs, hooks, letters from long gone cinemas, enameled containers with unknown backgrounds, classic 50s ware that can make you drool and oodles of soda syphons! It has been on this site for about two to three years and prior to that has been on North Cross Road as a stall.
I did spend some time in here rummaging through baskets and looking through old books and discovered items that I hadn’t seen in a very long time. It was a joy, one thing though, you should make sure if you are going to buy that you have cash or cheque with you. If not, there are banks very close by in Lordship Lane. This little treasure benefits from its proximity to North Cross Road with its market and Lordship Lane which is only five minutes away and a main artery for this area. You never know what you night pick here, definitely worth a look!
The best time to visit is between 11am-6pm on Friday or Saturday and 11am-5pm on a Sunday.
