Wanna join the Sandman, Mouse and Elephant watching at the Krämerbrücke in Erfurt, Germany?
Wanna join the Sandman, Mouse and Elephant watching at the Krämerbrücke in Erfurt, Germany? The three fellows are icons of German children television, which has its head office in Erfurt. Therefore you can find them right next to the historical Krämerbrücke in the center of the medieval part of Erfurt.
This bridge is covered with houses without gaps on both sides. Little restaurants, cafés, a cosy children book store, a chocolate and other little shops wait for visitors. But there are also normal flats on the first and second floors of the houses and people live there.
You can even walk under the houses as it is … a bridge. In addition it’s the longest built up bridge in Europe. You can also climb up several stairs of the church which is situated on one end of the bridge and enjoy the bird’s eye view of the Krämerbrücke and whole Erfurt. But be aware: claustrophobic and unfit people won’t like it in the confined steeple.
The Photokina in Cologne, Germany is the most substantial photography trade show in the world. This year, over 160,000 visitors showed up at the event. Among them was myself and a group of other lomographers.
Read on dear friend and I will weave a story for you. There may be more questions than answers raised by this peculiar tale. But if it’s clarity you seek, have no fear, things will become clear in time (they always do, don’t they?). So rub the Sandman’s dust from your sleepy eyes and take a journey with me. If you think you have an answer when we reach the end, please do share it in the comments!

Ever since she started working late hours Tammy had inevitably acquired the habit of staying up into the wee hours of the night, doing nothing but catch up on her favorite websites, eat, and watch television. When nothing good’s on TV or in the Internet, however, she liked to hang out at her room’s balcony, sneakily smoking a cigarette or two while musing about all sorts of things.
Last month, Lomography Gallery Store Soho held an exhibition of photographs taken at the Nixon Surf Challenge in Russia. Free drinks and live music from Swim Mountain overflowed at the opening party. Using the Petzval lens and a star-shaped aperture plate to give a beautifully soft, dreamy effect, the folks at the Soho Gallery Store created a video of the event. Watch this video after the jump.
